Marie-Louise Zeisig creates a kind of inner landscape that takes shape on the canvas. The source of inspiration or starting point could be a physical landscape or her lifelong artistry as a musician. It's not the surface but what lies behind that interests her. Or the invisible movement that music creates in a room.

Searching for this inner landscape takes time, so a painting can therefore take several weeks or months to complete. The work is calm and meditative. It is the depth that must be achieved. The goal is to continue past the two-dimensional surface of canvas and paint.

In these landscapes you can find peace and quiet. Here the gaze can wander for a long time. Even in the drawings there is a search for what is difficult to describe - the immaterial. The softness of the impenetrable stone, the movements of the hand, the voices of the choir, the lines of the music filling a room. All these experiences become images.

Att leta efter detta inre landskap tar tid, en målning kan därför ta flera veckor eller månader att färdigställa. Arbetet är lugnt och meditativt. Det är djupet som måste uppnås. Målet är att fortsätta förbi den tvådimensionella ytan av duk och färg.

I dessa landskap kan du finna lugn och ro. Här kan blicken vandra länge. Även i teckningarna finns ett sökande efter det som är svårt att beskriva – det immateriella. Mjukheten i den ogenomträngliga stenen, handens rörelser, körens röster, musikens linjer som fyller ett rum. Alla dessa upplevelser blir bilder.
